Air Mini Humidifier

Air Mini Humidifier

The Air Mini features a small waterless humidification system to enhance comfort without the need for distilled water. Each HumidX is disposable and can be replaced every 30 days.

It’s also compatible with a high-capacity CPAP battery, such as the Zopec Explore 8000 or EXP96 Pro. It even has a ramp feature that slowly increases pressure throughout the night.

CPAP Humidification

Heated humidification has been shown in studies to reduce 2.5L Mist Humidifier dryness symptoms in CPAP users, increasing compliance and leading to improved health outcomes. This is why most newer CPAP machines come with a built-in humidifier that is fully integrated into the device or easily attached.

Most CPAP machines have a water chamber that is filled with distilled or de-mineralized water and heated by a hot plate to vaporize part of the water and add humidity into the air stream you breathe in. Humidification is important, particularly during the winter when CPAP users are more likely to experience nasal congestion, runny nose and dry mouth and throat.

In addition to adding warmth and moisture to the air, a CPAP humidifier can help reduce the build-up of mineral deposits in your machine’s tubing and mask. It can also prevent rainout (condensation) that occurs when the heated humidified air cools and reaches your face as water, leaving you with a damp sensation on your skin or in your mask.

The new AirMini is designed with a smaller and more efficient approach to heated humidification, the Heat and Moisture Exchanger (HME). This unique design uses patented Capillary Force Vaporizer technology to wick warm water up to a heating element in the HME while preserving power, allowing for a smaller tank, reducing overall size of the device. It also eliminates the need to clean a water reservoir and replace filters, allowing the machine to stay small and travel-friendly.

HumidX

The HumidX waterless humidification system is exclusive to the ResMed AirMini Portable Auto Travel CPAP Machine. The small heat and moisture exchangers (HME) retain the warmth and moisture from the environment you sleep in, so you can get a quality night’s rest even when you are away from home.

Optimised for dry and high altitude environments where humidity is low, (Eg: aircraft) HumidX works by capturing heat and moisture from the exhaled breath and releasing it back into the breathing circuit when you inhale. The HME’s tiny paper ridges absorb this heat and moisture, then release it when you exhale to help humidify the air that is being delivered to your nose and mouth.

The disposable HumidX can be inserted directly between the mask connector and vent, so it is easy to use. The HME is also very lightweight and does not require any maintenance or cleaning. Each HumidX lasts for 30 days once it has been removed from its packaging, and must be replaced after that time period is up.

If you find that the standard HumidX isn’t providing enough comfort, the HumidX Plus offers greater levels of humidification. This set includes 6 replacement HumidX Plus cartridges. These are only compatible with the N20 and P10 Nasal Pillows masks that are included with the AirMini Travel CPAP Machine.

In-Flight Use

The dry air in airplane cabins can dehydrate nasal passages and throats, leading to soreness, discomfort, and irritated tissues. Using a humidifier during your flight can help combat these issues and make your trip more comfortable. By following TSA guidelines, packing smartly, and choosing the right device for your needs, you can ensure a more comfortable journey and arrive at your destination feeling refreshed and hydrated.

The ResMed AirMini CPAP machine offers a number of features that make it ideal for travel, including a built-in backup battery and a water-free humidifier component called HumidX. These waterless filters are inserted into the mask connector and vent, where they absorb moisture from each exhalation. HumidX is exclusive to the AirMini portable auto-CPAP machine and is compatible with its AirFit F20 full face mask.

The AirMini’s AutoRamp feature gradually increases pressure levels so users can fall asleep more easily, and the AirMini app records compliance, tracks sleep data for up to 30 days, and detects mask leaks. In addition, the AirMini is quiet at 26 dB, so it won’t disturb fellow passengers or interfere with your conversation. Lastly, the AirMini is FAA-compliant and does not require a power outlet for operation. Some travelers may want to pack a travel adapter if they plan to use their device internationally.

Travel Bag

When traveling, the Air Mini packs small. It has a soft cloth travel pouch and an optional hard shell case. The 2.5L Mist Humidifier premium carry bag is roomy enough to hold your machine, mask, tubing, power supply and a few extras like HumidX pucks or an external battery.

A full CPAP machine is bulky and difficult to carry, but the AirMini makes it easy to pack a dependable CPAP on vacations, outdoor adventures, and business trips. This compact, lightweight machine has comfort settings including APAP or CPAP mode, ramp setting, and a humidifier component that’s built into the mask tubing. It also stores 30 days of sleep data, making it easy to retrieve while away from home.

AirMini’s HumidX technology takes waterless humidification to a new level. The disposable HumidX pucks are smaller than a quarter and fit into the end of your mask tubing. The standard HumidX is suitable for most climates, while the HumidX Plus is optimized to provide a higher level of humidity in arid climates and high altitude environments. Both work with the AirFit N20 and P10 Nasal Masks for AirMini.

The AirMini has a 4.3 out of 5 star rating on Google with reviews that mention the size, quiet operation, and ease of use of this portable CPAP. A few complaints were that the device is louder than expected, but the majority of users praised this small machine for its efficiency and convenience.
