Sterilisation Humidifier

Sterilisation Humidifier

Recently, it has been found that reusable oxygen humidifiers are easily contaminated with bacteria or pathogens. These bacterial pathogens are easily transmitted to patients through water vapor and moisture from the reusable oxygen humidifier.

The sterilizing humidifier according to the present invention always discharges only sterilized hygiene moisture by periodically sterilizing the water 121 in the reservoir.

Ultraviolet Light

A UV light sterilizes viruses and bacteria that are in the air. It does so by exposing them to UV rays and breaking their chemical bonds. This process turns them into gas and vapor. It’s a common practice in many types of air purifiers, but it has limitations. This is because UV only works in its light path and can be blocked by objects. A high-grade filter and strong motor are essential to push air through a UV purifier.

The Sterlization Humidifier also uses the power of boiling and silver ions to kill microorganisms. Moreover, it uses an air circulation system to irradiate the water and the air multiple times. This prevents any resistant microorganisms from surviving and breaks down the cell membrane. This results in safe and hygienic moisture that’s free of bacteria, pathogens, fungal spores, and virus.

There have been plenty of articles in the news about how effective this technology is at impacting and killing microbial contamination. But you’ve probably also read the caveats and cautions about it being unsafe to use around people. As a result, many experts are now advocating the use of multiple technologies in a multi-layered approach to cleanliness. This is the approach Delta has embraced in its plane lavatories, as described in an article on its news hub, Delta Makes More Than 100 Changes to Cleanliness Protocols to Better Protect Airplane Lavatories.

Boiling

Boiling is a fundamental cooking technique, used in kitchens around the world every day. It’s a relatively simple process, and it can produce incredibly delicious foods. In fact, boiling is a dynamic stage of liquid cooking that can change the texture and taste of food, as well as affecting other aspects of cooking like color, flavor, and nutrition.

The Sterlization Humidifier boils the water in its reservoir to make a Top Fill evaporation Humidifier hot mist of moisture that sterilizes microorganisms including bacteria and fungal spores. Additionally, the cartridge containing silver ions installed in the humidifier water tank sterilizes the water by producing oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide, hypochlorous acid and OH radicals through electrolysis.

In addition to destroying pathogens, the process of boiling also increases the nutritive value of foods by making them more digestible. It also makes grains, beans and starchy vegetables palatable by breaking them down and softening them. Finally, boiling is a great way to make meat, poultry and vegetable stocks that can be frozen for later use.

To ensure safe water, the CDC recommends boiling tap water for one minute at normal elevations or three minutes at higher elevations to kill any bacteria or fungi that may be present. This is a very simple and inexpensive step that can prevent disease and sickness, especially in children or elderly people who may be more vulnerable to infectious diseases.

Silver Ions

Silver has a long history of use as an antimicrobial agent and is widely employed in medical treatment, especially in wound care and surgical Top Fill evaporation Humidifier implants (silver nitrate, silver sulfadiazine and others). Its broad spectrum bactericidal efficacy against bacteria and other microorganisms is attributed to the ionizable silver ions (Ag+) released by very slow electrical anodic corrosion of a metallic silver wire located closely adjacent to the infection site.

The sterilization impact of the Sterlization Humidifier is enhanced by the addition of silver ions, which are produced by electrolysis in a recess part formed below the net-like lid part 324 in the humidifier water tank 300. The ionized water kills viruses and bacteria that are transmitted by droplets.

Unlike silver salts, which are sparingly soluble in aqueous solutions, the silver ions generated by anodic electrolysis of metallic silver are highly soluble and therefore very effective germicidal agents. Spadero (1974) demonstrated that the ionized metal kills a wide variety of animal bacteria at current levels as low as 400 nanoamperes.

The ionizable silver ions are released when the silver anode is exposed to a light source such as visible light, ultraviolet light or any other type of white fluorescent lamp containing mostly visible light. As a result, the sterilization effect of the silver is greatly enhanced when the light irradiating part 700 of the humidifier is a white fluorescent lamp containing only visible light.

Electrolysis

Unlike conventional humidifiers that produce heat or ultrasonic vibrations, this product uses electrolysis to sterilize water and air. Electrolysis converts water molecules (H2O) into oxidising sterilisation ions, including -OH, OH-, and OH radicals which destroy the DNA of harmful germs. The sterilisation ions are then reduced to neutral water, which is gentle on the skin and body.

The electrode 150 is positioned in the reservoir 120 and an electric current is applied to it from the power supply 155 to electrolyze the water 121. As a result, ozone, OH-radicals, and hypochlorous acid are generated to sterilize the water 121.

When the amount of water 121 in the reservoir 120 remains unchanged for a long time, bacteria or fungal viruses can inhabit it. In such cases, the amount of oxidant generated during electrolysis cannot sufficiently sterilize the water 121 in the reservoir 120. To prevent this, the water in the reservoir is constantly replenished by the saturated salt solution 165 supplied from the salt supply unit 180 so that its electrical conductivity can always remain greater than a first predetermined value.

This prevents the generation of extra electrons that can cause oxidative stress in the host cells, which is a leading factor in several diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Moreover, it prevents the degradation of the electrode due to the generation of excess electrons during the electrolysis process, thus ensuring stable operation and a safe life of the fuel cell humidifier.
